Szent Donat Kékfrankos is always a vineyard selection from the best vineyard of the given vintage. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine is matured on the lees for 8 months in old oak barrels, without intervention or additives, and then bottled unfiltered, without any additional sulfur. Natural wine in the best sense of the term. Deep and dark in colour, the wine stands in the glass with remarkable intensity. Above it unfolds an impressive, volcanically shaped bouquet: cherry and plum meet bacon and smoke. Very distinctive, yet highly exciting. Freshly sharpened pencil, autumn leaves falling, blackcurrant. Penetratingly intense and convincingly high-quality on both nose and palate. Noticeably calm in character, soft and gentle on the tongue, yet also densely packed and velvety like cashmere.
A Blaufränkisch of truly individual character: impressively good and wonderfully invigorating to drink.
